Wasim Gulzar Khan was born in Birmingham and became the first British born Pakistani to sign a professional contract with an English County when he signed for Warwickshire County Cricket Club. Since then, Wasim has been breaking barriers and setting a series of firsts.

 

He became the first Black or South Asian CEO of any professional sports club in the United Kingdom when he was appointed CEO at Leicestershire County Cricket Club. In 2019 he became the first Pakistani from the international diaspora to lead the Pakistan Cricket Board.

His personal achievements include being honoured with the Member of the British Empire Medal from her Majesty the Queen in the Birthday Honours list in 2013 and winning Wisden Book of the Year in 2006 for his autobiography, Brim Full of Passion.
