During his 15 year career as a cricket administrator, Wasim has sat on a number of external bodies making decisions regarding sport at a National Level. He is a regular public speaker on leadership and the business of sport.

Wasim has sat on the ECB's Anti Corruption Unit, a body which focuses on the prevention of corruption in the domestic game working in collaboration with the ICC and other International Cricket Boards.

Wasim also chaired the ECB's Domestic Playing Group which had responsibility for providing recommendations to the ECB Board on the scheduling for the 2020 season.
In 2016, Wasim joined the Board of Sport England, a government body tasked with building the foundations of a community sport system by working with national governing bodies of sport.
Wasim was guest lecturer at Warwick Business School delivering lectures on leadership to Executive MBA students.

Wasim has also delivered lectures on leadership and leading organisations to students at Iqra University at both the Karachi and Islamabad campuses.
Sat on the Equality & Human Rights Commission Sports Policy Group looking at equity and inclusivity in sport.
